Lamborghini Aventador SVJ from Korea to Dubai: Verification, Container Shipping and Final Cost
The Aventador SVJ is scarce, valuable and easy to misrepresent. Lamborghini lists a 6,498 cm³ V12 producing 770 CV, while the limited SVJ 63 is a distinct 63-car edition. A normal SVJ with cosmetic “63” details is not an SVJ 63. Verification comes before negotiation.
Build an identity file
Collect the VIN, Korean registration, factory build information, original sales and service documents, option list, photographs of plaques and carbon components, keys and diagnostic report. Confirm the identity with an authorised Lamborghini dealer. For a collectible vehicle, provenance affects value as much as mileage.
Inspect what photographs hide
Map paint thickness, examine the carbon monocoque and exterior carbon, inspect every underbody contact point, test the front-lift system and scan the transmission, suspension and engine modules. Review Korean insurance history, but do not treat a clean database result as proof of no damage: repairs paid privately may not appear.
Shipping and UAE cost
Dubai Customs states a general customs-duty rate of 5% of customs value (vehicle, freight and insurance). UAE VAT is generally 5% under the federal system, with the precise import treatment depending on importer status and declaration. The calculation therefore begins with vehicle value plus freight and insurance, then adds duty, VAT, port, clearance, inspection, registration and inland transport.
Use an enclosed container. Before booking, confirm ramp angle, ground clearance in transport mode, tyre width, tie-down method and whether wood or temporary structures comply with port and insurer requirements. Record continuous photographs and video from Korean dealer release through sealed-container handover.
Korean specification versus GCC resale
A Korean-spec SVJ may be usable in the UAE, but do not assume identical warranty, navigation, radio, connected services, cooling specification or resale perception. Ask the UAE dealer to confirm service and campaign support by VIN in writing. A cheaper acquisition can still be a worse asset if the resale discount is larger.
